She would have given you all of her
She would have sacrificed everything for you
She walks down the isle wondering where you are
Knowing your not there
Knowing your watching me on our wedding day
Knowing this aint goanna happen today
She looks her best friend in the eyes
Tears start falling
The look on her best friends face
Just one look says it all
It’s all just a dream
Waking up realizing that this empty heart won’t ever heal
That this bed has grown colder without you in it
Knowing she once had something, but it was far from real
It’s always been far from a reality
It’s all just a dream
45 years old looking down seeing our kids
Watching them run around the yard as they play
Sees a car pull up in front
Her best friend inside
Our eyes meet
She just shakes her as if to say no
She looks around tries to reach out and touch the kids
Calls out their names
Screams NO as they fade away
Waking up in the dead of night knowing it’s gone
It’s all just a dream
80 years old sitting on her porch swing
Holding your hand
Looking in your eyes
Even more a love now that when she met you
Looks up sees her best friend standing there
Just one look says it all
Turns around and you fade away
Screams for you not to go but your already gone
It’s all just a dream
Wondering why you haunt me so
95 years old
Lying in a casket
Looking around for you
Watching the loved ones cry
Looks up sees her best friend
Tears falling down her cheeks
Our eyes meet and a smile crosses her face
She shakes her head yes
Looks up and sees a bright light
There you are standing there
In all your glory
It’s no longer just a dream
I’m home once again in your arms
