The Real Jesus

This poem is much more than it appears. Its about taking our learned values from the world and turning them into learned values of Jesus.


People take one look at us and pass us by
Saying our God is bogus
They really must not know the truth
Of his Mighty Love for us


We’ve taken all we have for granted
But have we ever really thought it’s really God who gives us our stuff
Our generation has fallen so far from a true life
We’ve placed all our happiness in our stuff
But forgetting what really matters

Those people pass us by
They’ve learned from our culture
Value is a God that gives them stuff

It’s the people who say they are Christian
Never do they read the bible or step in church
How bout the people who think their number 1
And God is number 2

The sports teams you see kneeling on the field
Praying to God saying he’s number 1
Then going out at saying “were number 1”
If they are number 1, then God is number 2

No! See that’s the problem
The problem with our society
The problem with our generation
God can be whatever we want

The Belief that If I only do it once
Only try it once
God can’t hate me
It’s not a sin I just won’t do it again
I just won’t do it again

It’s the Kanye West God where
You need a God that is Stronger, Faster
The God you need right now

It’s the people believing for them selves
The kids who do it cause their parents make them
Never do they choose to believe
Only told to believe

The adults who where just raised to believe in God
Never did they commit for themselves
Only made Christian by their Family

No! God wants a better relationship with you

Only because you want one
Not because someone told you too

It’s the Brittany Spears God where you’re in the Center of the ring
All eyes are on you
It’s all bout you

It’s the Jesus who died
A cross he bled on
All the while our sin he took
Final word that just were
“It is finished”
But for our generation most don’t see it
Most just think God is whatever they want

What happened to just believing in Jesus
For what he is, Will the real Jesus please stand up?
Please Stand up
So let’s take a look
Examine the Jesus we have just read that we need
The Jesus of the Bible
Not our own
